*As seen on Good Morning America
Lisa's segment on the history of TV housewives proves that her mother was wrong after all.  Spending her formative years glued to the set paid off in a big way when the producer said nobody knew more about Carol Brady than Lisa.

Gwendolyn Faye
Artist, Poet and Creator of the fabulous Crochet Cafe

Gwendolyn Faye, founder of Crochet Nation, is this month's cool chic because she mixed her passion with friends and fun to create the ultra hip Crochet Cafe.  If you are thinking old ladies sitting around sipping bad coffee, think again.  You don't even have to know how to crochet to enjoy the wacky crochet show-and-tell, poetry readings and live music ending with an all-inclusive open mic night.

Inspired by the isolation Gwen witnessed in her community, she comments, "It's an opportunity to be inspired and let your voice be heard.  I got serious about writing poetry through events like this in my friends' homes.  We want to recreate the intimacy of those settings at the Crochet Cafe, something that most of us don't experience every day."

Beginning with a Crochet 101 instructional class and ending with live music, the next Crochet Cafe will be:

     1-3pm Crochet 101
3-5pm Spoken Word Open Mic & Music

Links and Laughs Worth a Looksee

Fatty, fatty two-by-four coming through the lunchroom door
Wondering about wisdom: If 'they' say it, is it always true?
Take thoughts of seven generations to the polls

Men are Pigs But We Love Bacon
A hilarious book from the hysterically funny Michael Alvear, as seen above, the hot host of the UK sensation Sex Inspectors.  Why would a boring hetero mother of two recommend a gay sex advice book?  Think of it as queer eye for the straight girl.  If you want to know what turns men on, Michael Alvear is not afraid to tell you.

The Artist's Way
This international bestseller is a gentle and honest guide for creative seekers.  For artists or anyone looking to enhance their meaningful existance, this book by Julia Cameron will help you navigate your inner artist.
